Valley Christian is expanding the successful Conservatory of Music program in the fall to include distinct programs in theatre arts, dance arts, music and visual arts.
Minor Program -- a four-year plan that requires one performance or art class per year, private lessons or portfolio design, and recital or mainstage performance in sophomore, junior and senior years. Application and educator's recommendation required. No audition required.
Major Program -- a four-year plan of intensive study requiring two classes per year in the student's fine art focus, private lessons or portfolio design, and recital or mainstage performance all four years. Application and educator's recommendation required. Audition required via DVD, CD or link to youtube video.

Valley Christian’s “Room 107” Jazz Vocal Ensemble tied for first place in the Jazz Vocal Group, High School Division, in DownBeat Magazine’s 32nd Annual Student Music Awards. Over 800 entries
were received from around the world.
2009 Reno Jazz Festival
Jazz Ensemble - First Place in the "B" Division
with a unanimous superior rating.They were one of three high school bands chosen for a command
performance out of 172 competing bands.
2009 Monterey Jazz Festival / Next Generation
Jazz Ensemble - Second Place in the High School
Big Band Division. This award includes an
invitation to perform at the Monterey Jazz
Festival in September.

The VCHS Marching Band & Color traveled in February to Siem Reap & Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in a performance exchange and to deliver gifts to children of Cambodian schools.

Early Music Ensemble Students Visit Shanghai Conservatory
In February, four Valley Christian Conservatory students (Jonathan Ho, cello; Michelle Hermadi, piano; Danielle Petersen, violin; and Sophia Yaksic, violin) traveled to Shanghai in a music exchange. For a week, the students boarded at the school, took lessons and master classes, and toured the area. Students from the Shanghai Conservatory are expected to visit the Valley Christian Conservatory in a similar exchange in the next year.

First California "All-Steinway" High School
With the purchase of a nine-foot Steinway grand piano Model D, a Steinway K-52 upright, and fifteen Boston uprights, Valley Christian has become the first high school in California to be designated an "All-Steinway School." The pianos benefit Conservatory and piano students, as well as all other Visual and Performing Arts programs.
